Connect your email

Connect your Gmail or Outlook so your own email shows in pre-meeting briefs, on people's pages and in Ask Jurnie. Only you see it.

Connect your own Gmail or Outlook mailbox, and Jurnie brings your email with the people you meet into briefs, their pages and Ask Jurnie. Only you see it.

Note: Email is in limited beta. If there's no Gmail or Outlook under Integrations, it isn't available to you yet.

Connect

Connect from Jurnie in your web browser, not the desktop app.

  1. Click your name at the bottom of the sidebar, then Settings.
  2. Open Integrations.
  3. Click Connect on Gmail (Gmail or Google Workspace) or on Outlook (Microsoft 365, Outlook.com or Hotmail).
  4. Sign in to your mailbox and allow access to read your email. For Gmail, the sign-in screen names the partner Jurnie uses to connect mailboxes; that's expected.

When it's done, the card shows Connected. You can connect one mailbox at a time: to switch, disconnect the connected one first.

If your IT has to approve Jurnie

Some Microsoft 365 organizations only let IT approve apps that read email. Microsoft then says you need admin approval, and you can't connect yet.

  1. On Outlook, click Get the approval link.
  2. Click Copy message for IT and send it to your IT admin. The message includes the link.
  3. Your IT admin opens the link, signed in as an admin, and approves Jurnie once for everyone at your organization.
  4. Click Connect on Outlook again.

What you'll see

  • In a pre-meeting brief: for each person invited that you've exchanged email with, Last email with its date, your last few emails with them and short notes starting By email:. The short paragraph at the top of the brief also takes your email into account. Prepare also appears for meetings with people you've emailed, even ones Jurnie doesn't know yet. See Prepare for a meeting
  • On a person's page: last emailed in the header, and From your email, marked Only visible to you, with your recent threads, short notes and Open in Gmail or Open in Outlook. Jurnie may also suggest an email address or a full name it found in your email. Click Add on an address or Use on a name, and everyone who can see that person will see it; Dismiss hides the suggestion.
  • In Ask Jurnie: ask about your email, for example "What did Ida send me about the contract?", and Jurnie searches your mailbox and links the emails it used. The chat then shows This conversation used your email. Only you can see it.

Drafts and commitments

When Ask Jurnie or one of your agents writes an email for you, it can offer it as a draft card. Change it with Edit if you like, then click Approve. Open in Gmail or Open in Outlook then opens a new email in your mailbox with everything filled in. Jurnie never sends anything; you send it yourself. Outlook doesn't fill in Cc, so the card lists those addresses under Add Cc in Outlook.

Ask Jurnie can also check your email for signs that a commitment from a meeting was done, and offer a Mark as done card. Once you approve it, the commitment shows as done to everyone who can see it.

Privacy

  • Only you see what Jurnie reads from your email; your colleagues never see it. Nothing from it goes into Jurnie's memory unless you choose to: an address or name you add to a person, or a commitment you mark as done.
  • Jurnie only reads. It never sends, changes or deletes email, and keeps no copy of your mailbox: it reads it when you open a brief or a page, or when Ask Jurnie needs it.
  • To make a brief open straight away, Jurnie keeps the short notes and summaries it writes for you for up to 7 days, and deletes them when you disconnect.

Disconnect

On Integrations, click Disconnect on Gmail or Outlook and confirm. Jurnie's access to your mailbox is removed. In conversations that used your email, Jurnie's answers from that point on are removed; your own messages stay. The notes and summaries Jurnie wrote from your email are deleted too.

If your email stops showing up, click the gear on Gmail or Outlook to open Email settings. If it says Jurnie can't read your email right now, disconnect and connect again.
