Capture in-person and hybrid meetings

Take notes in a meeting room with the Jurnie phone app or the desktop app, and capture hybrid meetings with everyone in them.

For a meeting in a room, start Jurnie on your phone or on a laptop on the table. For a hybrid meeting, capture on the laptop that's in the call: Jurnie hears the room through its microphone and the remote people through its audio.

With your phone

  1. Open the Jurnie app and go to the Jurnie tab.
  2. Tap the large orange button. The first time, allow microphone access.
  3. The screen reads Jurnie is taking notes... and shows a timer. Tap the button to pause, and tap it again to resume.
  4. When the meeting ends, tap Finalize Meeting. To throw the meeting away instead, tap Discard and confirm.

You can lock your phone or switch apps while Jurnie takes notes. If you lose your connection, the meeting stays saved on your phone and uploads once you're back online; the Jurnie tab tells you while it waits. To get the app, see Jurnie on your phone.

With your computer

In the desktop app, click Start taking notes at the top of the window. In a room, no meeting app is using your microphone, so the Meeting detected notification doesn't appear: start it yourself. Pause, Finalize and Discard work as they do for an online meeting.

Put the laptop where its microphone can hear everyone.

Hybrid meetings

Capture in the desktop app on a laptop that has joined the call. Jurnie combines what the laptop's microphone hears in the room with the call audio from the remote participants, so everyone ends up in one meeting.

Jurnie's note taker can join a hybrid call too, but it only hears the call. People in the room are heard only through a microphone that's connected to the call. See Invite Jurnie to a meeting.

Tip: Use one way to capture per meeting. If you capture on your laptop and your phone at the same time, or the note taker joins as well, you get two separate meetings.

Titles and participants

If your calendar is connected, Jurnie matches the meeting to the calendar event that's under way or about to start, with other people invited or personal notes from you. The meeting takes that event's title and participants, and any personal notes you wrote for it beforehand. Without a match, Jurnie gives the meeting a title based on what was said.

Note: A meeting captured in the desktop or phone app can be up to four hours long. For a longer session, such as a full-day workshop, finalize and start a new meeting before then.
